Types of Therapy: What Do They Mean?
Swedish Massage is for those who prefer a lighter massage
using long strokes, kneading, and friction techniques on the more superficial
layers of muscles, combined with active and passive movements of the
joints. Promotes relaxation, improves circulation, range of motion, and
relieves muscle tension.
Deep Tissue is for those who prefer deep pressure to release
chronic patterns of tension. It is recommended that at least one hour of
massage is scheduled for this type of massage. Chinese Tuina methods may
also be used, stimulating the muscles in a vigorous push/pull method.
Pre-Natal Massage is for expectant mothers past their first
trimester (and experiencing no complications). It is performed in a side-
laying position with body pillows to support you and your baby. Gives
comforting relief especially to aching shoulders, low back pain, and tired,
sore feet.
Hot Stone Massage is an ancient Indian technique. 55
Basalt stones are warmed and strategically placed on the body. The energy
in the warm stones along with soothing massage techniques enhances
relaxation and soft tissue release. An experience you don't want to miss!
